For this weeks Friday Feature we are supporting BA Hons Illustration students who are exhibiting in Shoreditch later this week.
We are a select group of students from Arts
University Bournemouth BA Illustration who are putting on a graduate show in London this July. “We Made It” will be an exciting and innovative show to round off our three years of studying. We are exhibiting in the 71A Gallery in Shoreditch, London from the 8th to the 10th of July, with the private view on the evening of the 7th.
There will be a wide range of contemporary illustration on display, including a children’s horror novel, a selection of delicious cocktail recipes and a look into what could be lying underneath our cities; as well as packaging design, 3D rope sculptures and much more. We are a hard working and talented bunch of illustrators who work in a range of mediums and sectors of illustration, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Excited by different aspects of the creative industry, from publishing to branding to craft, we have tailored the work to create a delightfully varied show.
Working hard over the last year, we have put on two successful fundraisers, a market and set up a fundraising page in order to raise money for the show. Now we have the dosh we are ready to knock your socks off with, what is for most of us, our first exhibition in the thriving city of London. After three years of slogging it out, we want to show the creative industry exactly who we are and what we can do.
Also interested in selling our work, we will be hosting a pop up shop at the exhibition, selling a range of zines, sketchbooks and original prints. There will be something for everyone at our humble show and we hope you will come away with a fist full of business cards and potentially some hardworking and talented new clients.
‘We Made It’ will be a colourful, exciting and dynamic show which we hope will kickstart our careers in the illustration industry. Our opening night is on the 7th of July, from 6-9pm and we welcome all creatives to come and celebrate with us.
We wish the best of luck in the future to these delightful students.
Congrats, you made it!
