Our Chief Article Writer Brittany Sutcliffe visits BA Photography’s print auction “Silent Thud”
Another crisp afternoon spent hiding in a warm gallery looking at pretty prints. This time, we had BA Photography showing off their stuff. A dramatic range of prints fetching prices to be proud of, hard to believe I’m looking at the product of students sometimes when I’m asked to poke my head in the door at these events. Catch 22 when you’re a student wanting to bid premium prices for prints (what a mouthful).
Thank you very much to a Mr “Hieronymous Bosch” who went around anonymously bumping up prices without a contact address. How mysterious, never the less a compliment to be visited by such an esteemed historical painter. If you happen to have a minute, keep an eye out for these events. They usually span quite a few hours so if you have the time, pop in and have a look. Always good to have a peer at other courses work and you might even get a (Christmas) present or two out of it.
