Zoe Slatters, a BA (Hons) Visual Communications student at AUB, has created some observational illustrations about life in London.
For the end of my first year at AUB I entered the Cheltenham Illustration awards entitled ‘Tales of the City’. I focused the project on London getting carried away drawing and captured by the city. I began to create work focused on the perception of living in the ‘bubbled’ ‘circular’ city. Some people love it, the busy rush, the hustle and bustle; on the other hand some people don’t. I focused on both end of the spectrums and created illustrations based on what I saw and drew from the city as well as focusing on aspects such as pollution, population and overall life quality. I experimented with putting these views into illustrations.
