In the second of our Remembrance Day themed posts, Level 4 BA (Hons) Illustration student Rory Wilson at the Arts University Bournemouth tells us more about his piece ‘Memorial Still Life’.
A still life with a reflection of my thoughts about the War Memorial in the Lower Gardens in Bournemouth, done in pastel.I didn’t realise at the time when producing my still life that I had done it in commemorative red to fit in with the memorial itself.
A great reminder of what was lost during the war, silently standing tallAmongst the busy day to day lives of the next generation. To think that it all could have been so different if it weren’tfor the brave men and women who gave their lives for freedom.
